However, the actual presentation is not required, but the finished PowerPoint slides with written notes will be submitted electronically for marking.

Two options need to be chosen and can be submitted in either one of the two formats: • Essay/report about 2000 (±5%) words; or • PowerPoint roughly 15 ~ 25 slides with total comments about 500 ~ 800 words. The purpose is to allow students to use their most comfortable professional communicationmethod and present the topic.Presentation requirements may differ for the two formats (see below), but the content must be from the chosen assignment sub-topics listed out in Section I. 1. Hints for report writing 1.1. A general guidance of the structural flow in each topic: 1.1.1. What are the major technical problems experienced in this topic? 1.1.2. Why are these problems important, particularly in the context of New Zealand? 1.1.3. What are the technical or non-technical solutions explored overseas? 1.1.4. What are or will be the proper solutions for New Zealand from the above? Why?

Hint 1: 10 ~ 15 hours in total are expected for this assignment. Hint 2: It’s best to choose a very specific topic to conduct your own research, demonstrate your understanding, so that higher marks can be earned for critical thinking. For example, choose 1.a.ii for wind into transmission, then choose 2.b.i for solar into distribution. Do not attempt all the topics or try a combination of different topics. Hint 3: Four aspects are expected to be addressed for each topic: Hint 4: Note that wind integration is related to transmission network, solar is to distribution network. Please Do NOT discuss solar integration in transmission grid, or wind to distribution systems.
