Assignment:
Select a military policy that interests you. Since military programs are policy-driven, so you may choose a military program if you prefer, but not a civilian program designed to help military families. Identify and explore the impact of the military policy/program on your population. What are the access or enforcement disparities, if any? In other words, who benefits and who is penalized by the policy? What are some unintended consequences of the policy? What are alternative options to the policy? What costs are associated with the policy (either its implementation or the failure to implement it)? What are the projected consequences of the alternative?
Once you're familiar with the policy and its background, conduct a well-informed interview (about 10-15 minutes) with a military stakeholder (e.g., Service Member, family member over 18, DoD contractor or employee), who has knowledge of or experience with the policy/program that interests you.
