Section 1 - Talent Manager at your Dream Organization You as Global Talent
Company name - KANTAR
Congratulations! Your interview (that you wrote about in Assignment #1) went well and your Dream Organization hired you. You have really enjoyed working at the Canadian headquarters of the organization.
Last week, your manager, Leslie Wang, VP of your functional area, approached you about taking on a long-term international assignment. A key position has opened up in the new subsidiary location in Country X and Leslie thinks this would be a great developmental opportunity for you. However, your organization does not have a lot of experience sending talent abroad, and there are not many policies or practices in place for expatriates. You are interested in the international assignment but want to get a better idea of what working in Country X might be like and think it is important that your organization support you before, during, and after this expatriate assignment to support your success. When you mention these ideas to Leslie, she requests that you put together a description of what supports are needed and the rationale.
For Part 1 of this assignment, you need to (1) include the name of the actual organization and functional area from your first assignment, (2) identify a country (NOT Canada) that will serve as Country X, and (3) compose a description of what supports you are requesting and why. Your answer should make direct links to concepts from the course material from Week 3 (including International Human Resource Management and national culture), Week 4 (including training & development) and Week 5 (including performance management & rewards), and other material that you believe is relevant, such as organizational culture and recruitment and selection.
In addition to demonstrating your understanding of specific aspects that you need to be aware of that may emerge in the national culture of Country X, you will need to discuss what factors can influence the success of an international assignment, and your answer should provide specific examples of how and why the organization can support you before, during, and after your time in Country X.
Following the word count limits and using in-text citations in APA style (citations are not included in word count), compose your answer in a word document. NOTE the WORD COUNT at the bottom of your Assignment 2 Part 1.

Section 2 - Your Key Learnings
Think about all that you have learned in MBAA 534: Strategic Global Talent Management. What were the two most important concepts or theories for you? How has each of these changed the way you think and/or (will) act going forward in your work as an MBA graduate?
For this part of the assignment, you need to (1) identify two specific concepts and/or theories that were covered in this course, and (2) explain how each of these two ideas have impacted you and/or why they are significant for you. Your answer should include direct links to concepts from the course material.
In addition to demonstrating your understanding and significance of your two selected concepts, your answer should provide specific examples of why each concept or theory is important to you, using real- world examples.
