Imagine that a group of alien beings, very different in appearance from us, visit this planet and gain control of our lives. They are decent, intelligent beings, but consider us to be of lesser value than themselves. They wish to perform medical experiments on us and promise to do so painlessly. You have the job of convincing them that this would be wrong. What would you say? After you have made your case to them, imagine a nonhuman animal being able to speak and make a similar case to you. Would the same reasons apply in both cases? Why or why not?
