An expandable helium balloon is to be sent into the upper atmosphere. At the surface it has a volume of 1 m3. What will be its volume when it reaches 20 km? The temperature at 20 Km is 216 K and the surface is 288K. Assume that the balloon rises slowly so that the temperature inside is the same as outside. What will happen if the balloon is made up of rigid material?
