The XYZ Manufacturing Corporation, where you hold a management position, has been manufacturing high-end motorized toys for the past 33 years. Within the past 10 months, there has been an alarming volume of returns of motorized toys to the company because these toys did not meet quality standards specified by distributors, retailers, and vendors. In addition, there is a high demand for these toys, and XYZ is behind on delivering its monthly commitments of between 998 and 1081 toys each month. The company's profit has fallen in the last 10 months, employee turnover has been high in the last 11 months, and during this same period XYZ has increased the outsourcing of some of the components used in the motorized toys.
