1. In jimsonweed, purple flower (P) is dominant to white (p) and spiny pods (S) are dominant to smooth (s). A true breeding plant with white flowers and spiny pods is crossed to a true-breeding plant with purple flowers and smooth pods. Assuming that the genes responsible for these traits areunlinked:
a.illustrate the gametes that would be produced by these parental plants
b.describe the appearance of the F1generation and illustrate the gametes that could be produced.
c.If the F1plants are allowed to self-cross, describe the distribution of phenotypes in the F2 generation.
d.Use a branch diagram to illustrate the phenotypic and genotypic ratios predicated from a cross between an F1heterozygote and a white-flowered plant with smooth pods.
