Illustrate a flyer announcing the Charleston, SC, Farmer's Market for 2021

The poster must contain ONLY custom hand-drawn vector art and vector illustrations. No raster images, no stock, no purchased vector art. Use text, (avoiding text distortion), illustrative effects, paths, gradients, fill, stroke, layers, and so on. Demonstrate a full spectrum of the usability of the software.

April 8th to November 27th

Located in Marion Square in the heart of the Historic District in Downtown Charleston, SC, the CFM is open each Saturday, from April 9 through November 26, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with additional Sunday markets during the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in May and June as well as Saturdays and Sundays in December during Holiday Magic for our Holiday Market.

The Design Process:

Research poster design. Find 6 inspirational samples. Save to one artboard for submission.
Hand draw 4 different roughs for your own design. Upload for critique before Thursday of week 7. Upload early, and upload progress often. Roughs should be small, 2-4 to an artboard when photographed and uploaded.
Upon receiving critique on your roughs, begin the digital design in Adobe Illustrator. You can free draw, or trace over a refined rough sketch as a Template Layer in Illustrator.

Due Week 8
You must follow the specifications below:

File size 11x17 inches, vertical/tall
NO Live Trace. Avoid Brushes. Every image must be hand drawn with shapes or proper use of pen tool
The Illustrator file must include all original, hand drawn vector art
No photographs or raster files are to be used.
Advanced illustrative technique is expected.
Allow a minimum of half inch margins on all 4 sides for text. Show rulers, drag guides from rulers to .5" on all 4 sides of your document. Graphics, colors, and backgrounds can bleed. Text should not bleed.

Export all design process: research artboards, and roughs artboards as "FinalProjectProcess_Lastname.PDF"
Save the Farmer's Market Poster as: CYMK color mode, File Type: "FinalPoster_Lastname.PDF" (You can select specific artboards for each PDF file when saving)
