Unit : Illogical presentation
Invent at least ten patterns of faulty reasoning to either advertise a product or brand, persuade the audience to an ideological position, play lawyer and argue for the guilt or innocence of a legal participant, or advocate for one's own political ambitions in a mock advertisement or debate. Students are being assessed on their ability to creatively exemplify patterns of faulty reasoning and fallacies to support whatever claims they would like us to support.
Create original examples of any of the fallacies presented in the Unit 2 file; for example, their own ten original examples of a slippery slope, strawman, appeal to pity or any of the other fallacies presented in the notes.
This exercise should be approached as a creative exercise and can appear in any medium or genre such as a skit, dialogue, argument, narrative, or advert.
Share to the discussion board with an explanation of each fallacy employed. Students are being graded on their ability to creatively provide illogical arguments, so they can detect them in deployment and avoid them in their own arguments.
At the end of each sentence containing a fallacy, please identify the fallacy being used in parentheses.
