The impacts of climate change affect some communities and social groups more than others.

The figure above shows climate-agriculture-gender inequality hotspots around the globe. Places in darker orange experience a greater climate exposure hazard for women in agricultural-based economies. Lighter oranges face lower risks. Places in white were not studied because of high-income levels or a lack of data. Places with high risk include central, eastern, and southern Africa and western/southern Asia.
