A gas initially at pinitial= 1 bar and occupying a volume (Vinitial) of 1 liter is compressed within apiston-cylinder assembly to a final pressure pfinal=4 bar

a) If the relationship between pressure and volume during the compression is pV = constant, determine the volume, in liters, at the final pressure.

b) If initial and final pressures and volumes are the same as in part (a), find the volume at 3 bar if the relationship between pressure and volume is linear.

c) Plot the processes in a) and b) on the same pressure-vs-volume diagram.
