In the Arctic, polar bears must be able to walk on thin ice to travel and hunt for food. An average male polar bear has a mass of around 400 kg, which must be distributed in a way that prevents them from breaking through the ice. To solve this problem, the paws of a polar bear are quite large compared to their body size, and this creates a force that is more spread out over the area of the ice.

If a typical male polar bear's paw measures approximately 0.3 m in diameter (assuming it is a circle), what is the stress that a single paw exerts on the ice? (Assume that paws are circular and the bear's weight is distributed evenly.)
