Part 1. Take a walking tour of your campus, work area, home, or community.

1. Identify five different vulnerabilities related to the physical security of this institution including 3 of the 5 following: Lighting Sensors Perimeter Security Fire Sensors CCTV.

2. Discuss what you have seen and what purpose it may have. (An example would be an exterior camera in a security housing in a factory building. It has the purpose to alert those watching the screen if an unauthorized person is in the area.)

3. Explain its current state and provide recommendations on how physical security could be improved.

Part 2. Assume as a director of security for a large retail chain of convenience stores, recently there has been an increase in the number of armed robberies at some of your urban stores. The review of the incident reports shows that most of these have occurred between the hours a 3 am and 7 am where an armed assailant has demanded money from the sole cashier that has been working.
