Identifying environmental and resource sustainability requirements
For this assessment you are required to identify and describe an industry organisation to be the focus of all the Assessments for this Unit and research and identify requirements and practices in relation to environmental and resource sustainability for a work group at this business.
This Assessment is to be completed in your own time out-of-class but some time may be allocated by your Trainer for some in-class research and discussion.
Your Trainer must approve the business you identify to be the focus for this Assessment.
Consider the requirements of the other assessments (portfolio, Roleplays, Exercise, Practical exercise) when making decisions about which business and work group to choose.
Criteria for success
The decision-making rules that will be followed are:
- All requirements must be sufficiently and accurately addressed to achieve a satisfactory result.
- Learners must provide all listed requirements/documentation to achieve a satisfactory result.
- Where a Learner does not complete tasks/requirements correctly, they will be provided an opportunity to repeat that part of the Activity, at a later date.
Specific requirements for the Project: You are required to:
- Identify and describe an actual or simulated industry business and work group to be the focus of this Assessment - this is a non-assessable part of the Assessment and is included to give you a context for the rest of this Assessment and the other Assessments and to give your Trainer a context for their assessment of your responses and competencies.
- Detail legislated obligations applicable to the business.
- Evaluate options for determining organisational compliance levels with mandated environmental sustainability obligations.
- Capture information on systems and protocols that enable enhanced environmental and resource efficiencies.
- Obtain and evaluate information identifying options for organisational environmental and resource improvement.
Your Trainer/Assessor will:
- Assist you with identifying a suitable business to the focus of this Assessment, or approve the business you have chosen to be the focus of the Assessment.
- Provide assistance with identifying suitable sources of research information.
- Advise you of the 'Due By Date' for this Assessment.
When completing the Project:
- Ensure you address all items and tasks identified in the Research Project Checklist.
- Read the Research Project Checklist to identify what the Assessor will be looking for when the assessment is undertaken.
- Submit your Research Paper to your Assessor by the 'Due Date'.
- Keep a copy for your records.
