Case: The final individual project assignment seeks to build and expand several professional competencies that are important for students interested in understanding and working with communities vulnerable to environmental and climate variability. Competencies include:

Identifying and conceptualizing vulnerability, resilience, and adaptation in communities at risk of environment and climate change
Selecting and creating technical and practical approaches to addressing such issues
Developing program strategies to address a specific community issue related to the environment and climate variability
Presenting project design and implementation plan persuasively in written form

Students will identify and devise strategies to address an environmental problem in a specific region of the world. Propose an innovative and practical idea to address a particular problem that you have identified. Students in this course could very well improve, refine, or come up with a very different approach to a long-standing approach to intervening in communities that are climate vulnerable. An initial outline of how the project will proceed is the first step in this project.
