Write an essay on the following articles-

1. Texting While Driving: A Deadly Dilemma.

2. The Perils of Moving: An Exploration of the Pros and Cons by John Brown.

the Essay Consists of three parts

Part 1) Research proposal: The proposal is a way for you to begin the research process as well as a way for you to articulate (describe) your own interests. The format of the research proposal is as following: • Come up with an interesting title for your research paper. • Identify and underline your tentative central research question/thesis statement. • Provide some background on the topic (or what you know so far). • Identify a series of (at least 3) sub-questions that you are interested in exploring. • Delineate the methods you will use to conduct your research: Library sources; online research of databases and indexes, etc. • Set up a timeline for your research. What are major deadlines for you? • State the purpose or goal of this research. Why are you researching this particular topic? Why do you want to study this topic further? Why is this topic important?

Part 2) Annotated Bibliography: (You will need a minimum of 6 sources.) It allows you to organize and to briefly analyze your various sources. For this assignment, you must present 6 scholarly sources. For each scholarly source that you provide (cited correctly in APA or MLA format), you will write a summary of 2- 3 sentences (you may NOT copy and paste from the article/abstract). In addition to the summary, you will write, in 2-3 sentences, how this article will be helpful to you in making your claims. You may not end up using all the sources you have listed on your annotated bibliography for your final paper. The bibliography reflects the experts from which you have chosen to draw. It also reflects the quality of your research so choose your experts wisely. The Syllabus: Prof. Usree Bhattacharya English 101 5 following sources may not be used to meet your sources requirement: Wikipedia or any similar online or print encyclopedia, dictionaries, books, websites or databases of famous quotes, unsigned websites (where the author/editor are not clearly noted), Spark Notes, Grade Saver, Book Rags, Etc., or any ".com" website.

Part 3) Research paper: (5-7 pages, double-spaced). Your paper must cite at least six SCHOLARLY sources. Use MLA or APA citation for direct quotes, paraphrases, and other references to your sources in your text (see Hacker, A Writer's Reference, for guidelines). It is okay if you rely more heavily on some of your sources than others, but avoid writing a paper that closely tracks a single source and barely uses the others; synthesizing your research materials into your own analysis is an important part of this assignment. The term "Research Essay/Paper" does not mean that you will simply provide me with all the information you can find on a particular topic. It means that you will make an argument about a topic, using research that supports your claim, or elements of your claim, either directly or indirectly.
