Case: Identify at least three skills you have learned how to do:

1. Form and present a coherent argument
2. Build a concise and appropriate theory of the case
3. Grievance Administration: write and reply to grievances
4. Conduct grievance meetings and negotiate grievance resolutions.
5. Advise management on appropriate discipline
6. Interpret contracts and collective agreements
7. Plan and conduct investigations
8. Advise management on the use of surveillance systems
9. Prepare a case book for arbitration
10. Research and cite precedent cases
11. Present an arbitration case
12. Create and manage an appropriate grievance filing system
13. Conduct research in preparation for collective bargaining
14. Collate and prepare a bargaining binder
15. Assist in the collective bargaining process

For any three skills, also explain for each:

a. Post one or more samples of it from your work during the course.

b. List the key components, divisions or building blocks of each of these skills. For example, if you chose "write a grievance reply" as one of your skills what are the PARTS of a grievance reply? 

c. Identify what constitutes high quality practice in each of these skill areas. For example, if you chose "write a grievance and reply" as one of your skills what distinguishes a poor reply from a good one? What is the objective of a good reply? How does a good or poor reply impact the relationship? This isn't easy - it requires you to think deeply about the skill AND it is where I separate the GREAT work from everything else.
