Assignment Background: You were introduced to the concept of marketing, its progression over the last few decades, the marketing mix & the importance of monitoring the environment using an environment scan. This assignment will reflect your understanding of the reading and in-class lecture material.
Individual assignment: You will use this assignment to reflect on the marketing mix of one of your favourite products - a good, service or idea. You will also conduct a SWOT analysis on this product as well as two competitors of the product.
Assignment Details:
1) Introduce your favourite products and tell us why you've selected it. Your product can either be a good, service or an idea.
2) Use the marketing mix to identify the: Product, Price, Place and Promotion aspects of the product you've selected.
3) Identify two main competitors of your favourite product.
4) Conduct a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats) analysis of your product as well as two main competitors of that product.
5) Based on the SWOT analysis, describe how your favourite product ranks against its competitors.
6) Conclude your assignment by sharing recommendations that might better position your favourite product in the market.
