Problem: Read the case study on systematic observation in Chicago Neighborhoods that starts on page 288. The researchers systematically coded neighborhoods for the presence of different types of 'disorder' (physical and social). Some of these types are straightforward - for example, it's easy to determine whether there are cigarettes on the street. Others are a little less straightforward - for example, how would a researcher know for sure that someone was a prostitute? Identify 2-3 other types of disorder used by the researcher that you think could be tough to measure. Explain why. Then, identify an additional 2-3 types of disorder that is not included in the list but ought to be. Explain why you think these other types of disorder are important to include. Write one well-developed paragraph and respond to at least two of your classmates.
