CASE SCENARIOS INSTRUCTIONS - Responses must be at least 150 words for Part 1: Focus Assignment and at least 150 words for Part 2: Self-Evaluation. Part 2: Self-Evaluation must also include at least 1 citation from the textbook. Each Case Scenario must follow current APA format and include a title page and reference page.
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTION
Objective: To create questions for a team meeting and to evaluate the questions.
Scenario: A new student, Zachary, is placed in your second-grade classroom. You receive a profile from his previous school, and his parents, outside providers, and previous teacher would like to set up a meeting before Zachary arrives in your class. While there are some positive notes on his profile, your eyes jump to the concerning ones:
• Often disrupts classroom activities
• Inattentive
• Impulsive
• Resistant to change
• Does not follow classroom rules
Focus Assignment-
1. Based on this list of characteristics, identify three questions you will have for Zachary's team. These questions should help you gather information about how to better understand how Zachary's behavior, as well as strategies the team has found successful in supporting him with these behaviors.
2. Be sure to read the SELF-EVALUATION section below to guide your thinking. Write your self-evaluation after you have completed your questions.
3. Review the assessment rubric to see how your assignment and self-evaluation will be graded.
