STEP 1 Identify three community events in Memphis TN that focus on different cultures. These events should be free, if possible. Events to consider include those organized by community centers, nonprofit or religious groups, or cities.
Step 2
Develop one activity for your early learning program related to each event. Consider bringing new words, traditions, or stories to the early learning program and interacting with children around these new celebrations of culture.
Step 3
Finally, plan to invite families to each of the community events. If they attend and you attend, and if you implement your activities, you are simultaneously building family engagement and honoring diverse cultures.
