Question: A 5-year-old patient presents in clinic for soft-tissue swelling and redness around the right eye. The report from the mother is that the child has had a cold with copious amounts of nasal drainage for 7 or 8 days. The mother thought the child was getting better, but this morning the child awoke with a red eye and a fever of 102 F. The child had no vomiting, complaint of headache, or visual disturbances, but complains of pain around the eye. Provide two possible diagnoses. Identify the treatment plan, including follow-up for each.
