Bay Bridge Health Network

1. This integrated delivery network is comprised of five hospitals and 20 physician practices, five long-term care facilities, two urgent service medical malls, and an insurance plan that covers 3 million covered lives in the San Francisco area. Strategic imperatives for this IDN include 10% operational cost reductions that are sustainable across business units and the expansion of market share through virtualization strategies to compete with stand-alone and retail urgent care competitors in the region.

2. Informatics Implementation Projects: Your individual project takes the form of an initiative. Choose one from the list of informatics implementation initiatives below:

• Multihospital Electronic Health Record Implementation (documentation, results, clinical provider order entry [CPOE]; and decision support systems [DSS])

3. Identify the strategic stakeholders who will be the focus of your communication plans and decision-making needs related to your individual informatics project.

4. Examine the clinical and business justifications for technology costs involved in the implementation identified in your individual project plan.

5. Determine the appropriate scope of work for your individual informatics project, including clearly stating what work is not within the scope of this implementation project.
