Everyone knows that when you talk about a no-hitter while it's in progress you jinx it. A no-hitter is a spectacular pitching performance and even professional television announcers will find ways to let viewers know when one is in progress without mentioning it, because almost every time the no-hitter is mentioned, the pitcher gives up a hit.
