Answer the questions in response to the Observation of the Use of Hunches and Challenges on Active Learning (pp. 206-207) in the book of Hutchinson, D. (2021). ESSENTIAL COUNSELOR: process, skills, and techniques. Cognella Academic Publish. 4th edition. use the question list below template when completing this.

1. What are this client's primary issues?
2. The counselor has chosen to focus on the issue of the client's sense of emptiness, of her not knowing what to do with herself when she is not working or caring for her family. Is this where you would have focused? If not, in what other directions might you have gone?
3. Identify the specific hunches and challenges the counselor used. Did you think these were effective? How else might you have used hunches and challenges to help?
4. The counselor uses some humor in the session. Is it appropriate?
5. At one point, the client asks about medication. Do you agree with how the counselor handled this?
6. Toward the end of the session, the client starts to talk about some things that spark her interest. These things hold some hope as to how she can mobilize her energies and help her deal with her sense of emptiness. What implications does this have for future counseling interactions? What is your sense (theory) about her sense of emptiness?
