Questions: Identification of key problems and opportunities
• Focus on strategic and key problems and/or opportunities
• Consider the company situation as well as significant problems and/or opportunities and issues which face management
• State problems and/or opportunities clearly
• Identify the root causes of the problems - some of your solutions may be short term and deal with the immediate crisis and other solutions may deal with root causes of the problems
• Do not recount the entire history of the company
• Provide key background information and discuss the facts necessary to understand the problems/opportunities and your analysis
• If you have made any assumptions, list these under a heading called "Assumptions" Step 2: Gather information and analyze
• Support views and judgments with information from the case and the data provided
• Do not give unsupported opinions or overgeneralizations
• Use logical sound business judgment and your knowledge of Human Resources Management theory, with obvious emphasis on your Organizational Development, Multidisciplinary Business Case, and Advanced Applications in HRIS.
