WSU has been holding its commencement at the Mass Mutual Center, downtown Springfield, MA for the past several years. While the ceremonies have been staged without incident, the new Governor has asked the university to create a risk assessment of the venue. Observing that there is new construction downtown Springfield and on Interstate Highway 91, the event could be interrupted by this or other natural or manmade disruptions. Identify the risks associated with the Mass Mutual venue, then rank order the risks. Next, for each risk, identity one or two mitigation strategies. (Use the Risk Matrix template in Exhibit 2.3, page 35 of Jacobs and Chase textbook.)
