CASE SITUATION - RISK FACTORS IN PREGNANCY
Client Rosa Santos, 43 y/o, went to the RHU for consultation because of dizziness and painful urination. Upon assessment, it was found out that she is 16 weeks pregnant with her 6th child. Her BP is 140/90 mmHg and she weighs 43 kg.
When the nurse asked her about her previous pregnancies, she said that in her last two pregnancies, she had miscarriages but the rests were okay and her children are alive.
Client Rosa is worried that now that she is pregnant again, because they hardly able to meet their needs because of the little amount she and her husband earn everyday for the family. She only works as a streetsweeper in their municipality and her husband works as a part-time laborer in a construction company. Client Rosa also mentioned that last three months ago, she was diagnosed to have Type 2 DM and hasn't started any medication yet because she has no enough money to buy the needed medication prescribed to her. She also said that since she only had two meals a day most of the time, she thought that it might help her lowering her blood sugar level. She was then advised to have her blood sugar checked by the nurse.
