Flight attendants are typically characterised as undertaking work that can lead to emotional exhaustion among workers with low job autonomy and long working hours. Flight attendants are required to express positive emotions as a part of their job, even when facing difficult situations such as dealing with difficult or aggressive passengers. Flight attendant's work is stressful and may result in increased absenteeism and voluntary turnover. High flight attendant turnover is costly for airlines because it can lead to the loss of experienced employees and involves costs in recruiting and training replacements.

This study investigated the relationships between the antecedents and consequences of job stress among flight attendants. More specifically, it looks at work-to-family conflict and family-to work conflict as the antecedents of job stress, and job satisfaction as the consequences. This study confirms that conflicts between family and work lead to flight attendants' job stress, which in turn affects their job outcomes such as job satisfaction. It is also indicated that women prone to be more stressful than male employees.

Based on the above case:

b. Develop a theoretical framework by clearly identify the relationship between independent, mediating, moderating and dependent variables.
