Assignment  - Persuasive Sale sLetter Rewrite Instructions

This assignment is an actual sales letter sent out by a small local company. Your job is to re-write and reformat the letter to make it a much stronger letter! Follow the AIDA formula for sales messages to persuade the reader. You can add or take out information to create the perfectletter!

How should you start thisassignment?

1. Read the letter and find out exactly what the sender's goal is for the letter. In other words,what does she want the reader to do when they finish theletter?

2. Identify the most important parts of the originalletter.

3. Rewrite the letter using AIDA formula for sales messages (attention, interest, desire, andaction).This will be a harder job - you will need to be creative and think about the goals of the letter and the way to persuade the reader.

You also may want to research the company online toget more ideas for persuasion. Think about the benefits to the reader and use those topersuade.

4. For the actual format of the letter choose the Block or Modified Block letter format(see Appendix in the book for examples). Create a letterhead, and then follow the correct formatfor a letter. Remember there needs to be at least 3paragraphs.

5. Use current dates within theletter.

6. Write and sign the letter with you as theowner.
