Research a specific problem that is presently occurring in a state or federal prison. Identify problems that you see as related to this course and recommend solutions. Note that some issues, such as overcrowding, can relate to many other problems such as constitutional violations, prisoner classifications, security, or improper managerial skills within the prison setting. As such, keep your focus on at least three main problems. Here are some areas to guide you in the development of your paper:
• Identify the main problem you are focusing on for this paper.• What other related issues stem from this problem?• State whether you are evaluating a state or federal correctional institution.• Relate whether these problems are occurring at other correctional facilities and explain how those other correctional facilities have attempted to remedy the problem(s).• Analyze current research that has been conducted on these problems.• What solutions do you recommend to correct these problems?• What potential benefits and limitations are there to such recommendations?• Do your recommendations trigger any legal or ethical concerns?• Would the American public be accepting of your recommendations?
Support your paper with at least seven (7) scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards.
