The purpose of this project is to create a Narrated PowerPoint presentation. You will act as a team leader presenting to the Board of Directors of Easy Wheels. Through the use of a case scenario, you will demonstrate the skills needed for today's business leader to face the challenges of business

Read the Following Case Scenario

Yul Brynner and TarasBulba were two American Army Veterans who wanted to make a difference for their fellow wounded veterans. They decided that they wanted to make semi-customized wheel chairs. After researching the idea, the two vets agreed that they were going to do something unique with the wheelchairs. Yul and Taras make the wheelchairs with 3-D printing and they were going to make them with easily replaceable parts so repairs could be done by someone with basic mechanical skills. They also agreed that they would only hire veterans as employees.

Brynner and Bulba started their business, Easy Wheels four years ago in Birmingham, Alabama. Since then, the business has grown exponentially. Last year gross sales were over $4 million, and was projected that the business will reach $5.5 million by the end of 2017.

A significant part of Easy Wheels success has been through Internet sales. The company website is geared to the American market. So far, the company has not gone global despite requests for the products from around the world. The average cost of a non-motorized chair is $69.00, half of the cost of a simple product found at Walmart. The battery-operated models average between $600 and $700, almost a quarter of the traditionally produced models. Prices for parts for the chairs are varied but the most expensive part is the battery for the mobile units, which is priced at one-fifteenth the price of an average battery. The company can customize colors, add oxygen container carriers and other features that improve the wheelchair-bound person's life for minimal cost because their computer program allows the chair to be designed to each person's specifications before manufacturing.

In recent months, Brynner and Bulba have been overwhelmed with requests to partner with businesses overseas to produce and sell the goods. They have also seen many requests from individuals who wish to buy the product directly from the Easy Wheels' website. They think it is time to go global.

Instructions:

Your team has been assigned by Brynner and Bulba to develop recommendations as to how to lead the company into its new global endeavor. To do this, Brenner and Bulba want your team to address three major concerns:

• The business environment in regards to the four business trends of a global economy: emerging markets, aging population, technology change, and declining resources as discussed by Dominic Barton in the video Dominic Barton McKinsey Video. Brynner and Bulba want to know the implications these factors have for the company's future roll out plans, especially in terms of the best locations for potential markets, customers and competitors.

• Brynner and Bulba have also said they want to see recommendations about the leadership challenges that await the company in the global marketplace and what can be done specifically to proactively set up the company to ensure success for the initial roll out and in years to come.

• Brynner and Bulba would like the recommendations to include specific ideas for blending the business environment implications with the challenges to set up a company for a strong leadership. For instance, how declining resources might be addressed by a sustainability effort by leadership.

Include in the Narrated PowerPoint:

Create a Global Leadership Growth Plan with recommendations for leading the challenges and trends that Easy Wheels will face during roll out and beyond. The plan should include the following:

• A summary of theeconomic trends (i.e. business landscape as discussed in the Barton/McKinsey Video) facing Easy Wheels global rollout.

• Recommendations as to how the economic trends should impact Easy Wheels in the rollout. For example, how and where should Easy Wheels look to grow the business? Should Easy Wheels use a joint venture, partnerships, licenses, Internet sales, or a combination) to enter the market and why? What countries, cities or locations would be best and what is the target market (s) and customers they would have? The Barton Video and outside research should be used and referenced in the plan.

• In support of the recommendations, include specific descriptions of the best markets, customers, locations and other economic considerations that would best suit the roll out (Per the Dominic Barton Video).

• An in-depth analysis of the leadership challenges facing Easy Wheels' business leaders in the roll out and the leadership skills needed to meet the challenges. Specific recommendations that address how proactive planning on the part of Easy Wheels leaders can meet the challenge. (E.g. how can Yul and Taras position the company to handle a virtual environment?)

• Combine the business environment and the recommendations in a summary that will give the Board a clear idea of how the team will assist the leaders of the company in an international rollout.

How to Set Up the PowerPoint

The PowerPoint cannot exceed 16 slides that includes the title page and reference page.

The presentation should be persuasive in tone and professional in appearance. Consider using visual aids or data. Do not do use clip art.

Provide a transcript of the entire PowerPoint presentation that includes in-text citations and a reference list used in preparation for the presentation. Make sure to also use in-text citations and a reference list in the PowerPoint presentation.

How to Set Up the Transcript

Create a Word or Rich Text Format (RTF) document that is double-spaced, 12-point font. The final product does not have a page count but should match the narration of the PowerPoint presentation.

Provide the slide number as a heading followed by the written text that representations the narration.

Be sure the transcript is written clearly and concisely and covers all of the required elements provided above.

Requirements for the Transcript/PowerPoint

• Contractions are not used in business writing, so you are expected NOT to use contractions in writing this assignment.

• You are expected to paraphrase and NOT use direct quotes. You are expected to paraphrase.

• You are responsible for APA only for in-text citations and a reference list.

• The expectation is that you provide a robust use of the course readings to support ideas, reasoning and conclusions.

• You may not use books as source material.

• When using a source document, the expectation is that the information is cited and referenced with a page or paragraph number. Note that a reference within a reference list cannot exist without an associated in-text citation and vice versa.
