Assessment Title: Current IR Issue presentation and report

Assessment Description

This assessment has two parts and you will be working either by yourself or in pairs Using a relevant case study in the media from weeks 4 to 10 develop a summary to assist you in presenting in the tutorial (800 - 1000 words). Only one person per week, so after choosing the case study, let your lecturer know so that there is no duplication.

You will then complete an oral presentation during that week of about 15 minutes to lead into a class discussion for the remaining time. The presentation will have two parts:

  • A chronology and description of the important aspects of the case relating to Industrial Relations.
  • Either some scenarios or questions that the class can answer or debate.

Your case study summary needs to:

  • Identify the key areas of importance within the case study
  • Identify and analyse the relevant theory and how you see it links to Industrial relations
  • Research and present some discussion or scenario options for the class

Your case study summary should include:

  • A summary of the key issues in the case study
  • The specific issues identified that impact the topic of any of the lectures
  • Description of the relevant theory and an analysis of how it will assist answer the issues in the case study
  • Any recommendations or conclusions you can draw from the case
