Please use SPSS and the 2012 GSS to produce a scatter plot (make sure you put the independent variable on the x-axis and dependent variable on the y-axis) and run a bivariate regression model using "sibs" (number of siblings the respondent has) and "childs" (the number of children the respondent has).

Use "sibs" as the independent variable and "childs" as the dependent variable.

Attach your SPSS output. Answer the following questions and type up all your answers in the space given below.

1. Identify the intercept and the slope and write them down here:

2. Interpret the intercept and the slope.

a. Slope:

b. Intercept:

3. Interpret the R-squared value:

4. Is there a significant relationship between "sibs"and "childs"? Explain how you reach your decision (hint: p-value):

5. Based on the results from the bivariate regression model, what do you conclude about the bivariate relationship between "sibs"and "childs"?
