Assignment:
Your organisation is operating in an environment of major change in operational matters and experiencing difficulties in staff retention and recruitment.
Senior management has assembled a team to make recommendations to improve leadership.
At all levels within the organization, from newly promoted managers to senior leaders and, to improve the organisation's culture and staff engagement.
The essence of leadership can be said to be "the impact that a person has on the thinking and behaviour of others, and the culture that he or she ends up creating as a result".
Scouller (2012) argues that the purpose of a leader is to make sure there is Leadership ... to ensure that four dimensions of leadership are being addressed:
(1) A shared, motivating team purpose or vision/goal.
(2) Task, progress, and results.
(3) Collective unity or team spirit.
(4) Attention to individuals.
Requirements:
Make a report for the Senior Leadership Team on how the Four Dimensions of Leadership model may be applied as a basis for the improvement of Leadership and Staff Engagement at all levels within the organisation. Your report should address the following:
• Assess the requirement for leadership development within the organisation.
• Identify how the Four Dimensions of Leadership model may be used within the organisation to improve staff engagement and operational effectiveness.
• Identify how successful implementation of the model may improve the culture.
• Make recommendations on whether it should be adopted by your organisation and, if so, a possible time frame for implementation.
