Course Description
In this course, students will be introduced to electronic commerce applications in accounting, finance, information systems, computer science, and engineering. Students will examine electronic commerce from a global perspective in order to gain an understanding of applications of electronic commerce.
Course Objectives
· To identify various different managerial, operational and strategic support systems that the managers use to make decisions to gain competitive advantages.
· To recognize disruptive and sustaining technologies, e-business models, e-business tools for connecting and communicating and identify the challenges associated with ebusiness.
· To identify the ethical issues in the use of information technology
· To understand the characteristics of different MIS infrastructure types
· To describe a database, a database management system, and identify the business advantages the relational database model.
· To identify the networking elements and the benefits and challenges of a connected world
· To identify the benefits and challenges of supply chain management and its role in supporting business operations.
