Problem

There are three basic epithelial types in the respiratory system of the air pathway - one type in the respiratory tree, and two in the alveoli. This is for those organs which will be filled with air; it does not include the pleura and structures surrounding the respiratory system.

1. Identify each of the epithelial types, and note all of their locations within the respiratory system. If there are two epithelial types in one location, indicate any differences or specifics of the locations where that particular epithelial type can be found.

2. Note the function of each cell type as it pertains to the respiratory system.

3. Note the location where one epithelial type changes to a different epithelial type.
