Overview:
Throughout this course we have been exploring what is perceived as threatening or harmful to an individual's health, safety and moral welfare and their property, which encompasses the elements of criminal law. For this assignment you will discuss, evaluate and share your opinion on the crimes committed with the concepts you have learned in class.
Instructions:
For the following assignment, you will review and respond to three different items.
Item 1:
People often say, "I was robbed", when technically they only had property taken from them. Based on your new found exposure to both, explain the difference between being robbed and having property taken from you and how one may turn into the other. Give a brief example or scenario to illustrate your answer.
Item 2:
Explain the difference between Treason and Espionage as well as provide an example of each using outside research.
Item 3:
The Antiterrorist Crimes identify a specific offense of providing material support or resources to terrorists (§ 2339) as listed under the USA Patriot Act (2001).
Identify the elements of the crime and provide your opinion as to if you believe the crime is vague or adequately identifies unacceptable conduct.
Requirements:
The assignment shall be in APA format, typed in 12 font Times New Roman, and shall not have been turned in previously to any other instructor for any other course or assignment. Paper length is 1-2 pages not to include the cover page or bibliography. It
is to be submitted as a Microsoft Word Document. The assignment shall be an individual effort and not a group project. Since criminal justice is a social science, the writing requirements of the American Psychological Association, otherwise known is the APA, will be in effect for the research paper assignment.
