ASSESSMENT 1
Assessment 1 requires you to study, analyse, and interpret the information available in the public domain about two very different companies - one a For Proft business and the other For Purpose (usually referred to as NFP or Not For Profit) organisation. Your task is to:
• Identify the differences between the two organisations in terms of their size, scale, industry context, service offering, and customer segments.
• Outline roles, responsibilities, and workflows that are required to facilitate the smooth operations of both case organisations.
• Consider the kind of resources and processes these organisations need; where these resources and processes are going to be located and how they are going to be controlled.
• Finally, review their respective organisational structures, and explain why these organisations design their operations the way they are, given the preceding analysis.
- In your answer, you will also include simplified diagrams of your organisational structures.
- Use relevant management and organisational theory to support your analysis. This should be sourced from your Week 1-5 Readings, relevant Chapters from the Text, etc.
- Ensure that before your reference section you clearly note the actual word count of the body of your text.
