The Hite Company is an electrical distribution company, and has employed Cindy Crawford as a sales representative, out of its Johnstown Pennsylvania office, since 2010.

• Crawford owns and operates a bed and breakfast where she lives in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, which is roughly 60 minutes to this office in Johnstown. Crawford commutes to Johnstown on a daily basis. During her commute, Crawford contacts customers to coordinate afternoon sales calls. Reliance Bank, one of Crawford's largest clients, prefers to meet with Crawford every Monday at 7:00 a.m. Crawford arrives at Reliance Bank every Monday at 7:00 a.m. The remaining mornings, Crawford arrives at the office at or shortly before 8:30 a.m. Hite Company expects its sales team to work from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. each day with a 30-minute meal period, but Hite Company does not keep track of hours worked. Hite Company pays Crawford and other members of the sales team $800 per week, representing $20 per hour for a standard 40-hour work week.
• On Mondays and Wednesdays, Crawford takes clients to lunch at the Allegheny Crepes and Creamery. The remaining days, Crawford eats at her desk. When Crawford eats at her desk, she surfs the internet. If the phone rings, which it usually does, Crawford answers the phone.
• During the average morning, Crawford performs roughly 30 minutes of work, with the remainder of her time being involved in office shenanigans with co-worker, Jennifer Lawrence who regularly pulls pranks on Crawford. Crawford spends each of her afternoons making sales calls. Cindy arrives home at 7:00 p.m. On Thursday evenings, the Johnstown office holds its weekly sales meetings at the Wine Deck at the Holiday Inn in Johnstown. Cindy looks forward to this weekly sales meeting, primarily because it provides her with an opportunity to try expensive wines on the Hite Company tab. Cindy generally arrives home on Thursday evenings at 9 p.m.
• Disgruntled by Lawrence's non-stop pranks, Crawford quits her job and files a Wage and Hour Claim against the Hite Company.
