This exercise is intended to have students connect the concepts being covered in operations management to the real world. You are going to "observe" a company or organization using Operations Management concepts by personal experience or through current news stories. Supply three (3) observations, for each observation include the following:
1. Clearly state the concept or topic
2. Identify the company or organization
3. Provide a reference to the source of information (news article link, personal observation, work experience, etc.)
Do not use a company website as the sole source of information, can be used in conjunction with a news article, personal observation or work experience. Write in a paragraph form how the topic or concept is connected to what you observed. Include a qualitative assessment of the impact or possible impact (positive or negative) to the business or organization.
