The purpose of this assessment is to identify the claim of a visual argument.
Refer to the following images that are attached and based on your understanding of the images, match each image with one of the claim categories given below. Provide an appropriate rationale for your selection.
Claim categories:
• This visual primarily establishes fact.
What is the fact? How convinced are you by this image?
• This visual shows cause and effect.
What is the cause? What is the effect? Do you accept the cause-effect relationship depicted here?

• This visual is mainly about establishing value.
What is being evaluated? Is the value assigned to it positive or negative? Do you agree or disagree?

• This visual provides a possible solution for a problem.
What is the problem, and what is the solution?
Based on your responses, discuss which visual was easy to match with its correct claim category and which visual was difficult to match with its correct claim category. Respond to two of your peers who you think have matched the visuals with their claim category incorrectly and discuss why you think so.
