Task
Form groups of two students. Select one firm from the list provided by your professor. Identify a digital-born business that has disrupted the sector or has helped to transform the sector or a non-digital/traditional business that has become digital throughout the years. Prepare a 10 min presentation including the following elements:
o Describe the business (product lines, target ... etc.)
o Identify what type of business it is (B2B, B2C, B2C ... etc.)
o How are digital technologies integrated within the business?
o Identify the business model and the revenue model.
o Analyse the advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing or in-house as an approach to the development of digital platforms.
o What are their online marketing/sales strategies?
o Is the Business Brick and Click? If yes, what are the differences?
Identify current trends as they relate to the disruptive company?
Each student is required to submit presentation preparation meeting minutes documenting required action points and owners (who did what and when).
This task is worth 30% of your overall grade for this subject.
It assesses the following learning outcomes:
• Identify current trends and technology in digital businesses.
• Understand how digital technologies can be integrated within business.
• Describe the digital business and compare it with non-digital businesses.
