Clarence goes to a free clinic to get tested. The test results show he does in fact have an STD. Clarence provides the free clinic with a list of his recent sexual partners' names and addresses so the clinic can notify his partners. However, due to budget cutbacks, past sexual partners are not notified for two months. Amanda was one of Clarence's past sexual partners, and she contracted the STD from Clarence. One month after Clarence went to the free clinic, Amanda has sex with a third party, Ruben, who contracts the same STD from her.
