Question: A new client has been added to your home visits schedule. Mrs Keen lives with her son but is alone during the daytime. She has recently suffered an illness that has left her unable to walk far and has been given a wheelchair to use. On your first visit you complete a risk assessment as per the requirements of your workplace. You observe that Mrs Keen's house is very small, overcrowded with furniture and there is evidence of hoarding newspapers and magazines so moving a wheelchair through the house is not possible. You identify that the house has no smoke alarms or safety switch, a number of electrical cords are frayed, and the electric heater is covered in dust. Mrs Keen is also coughing and sneezing. What is your workplace procedure for identifying and reporting the hazards?
