Question: A random sample of 100 households, from the set of all households containing two or more members in a given geographical area, is selected and their television viewing habits are monitored for six months. A random selection of 50 of the households is sent a brochure each week advertising a certain program. The purpose of the study is to determine whether there is any relationship between exposure to the brochure and whether or not this program is watched.

b) If a relationship is found, can this be claimed to be a cause-effect relationship? Explain why or why not.
