Human trafficking involves recruiting, moving, or holding victims to exploit them for profit, usually for sexual reasons or forced labour. As of 2020, Statistics Canada reported 3,541 police-reported incidents of human trafficking in Canada between 2011 and 2021. That number is much higher given the under reporting of human trafficking. Half ofthe human trafficking cases in Canada are in Ontario. Sex trafficking is a growing problem in our country.
