Problem

Robustness is a key issue when deciding upon your using a "Pull vs a "Push" production control system.

1. Identify the solid-tine profit function as either "push" or "pull" and the dashed-line profit function as either "push" or "pull" (In other words which one is which?).

2. The optimum control point is shown on the x-axis as a percentage of optimal. When you are at 100% optimum for push what is the setting (WIP or TH)? And, when you are at 100% optimum for pull what is the setting (WIP or TH)?

3. Use this graph to explain which is more robust (CONWIP/pull or push) for setting the optimum control value of WIP or TH and why?
