Your Signature Assignment will involve the development and analysis of two separate measurement approaches. You will be required to develop one quantitative and one qualitative research idea with corresponding measurement descriptions to apply the culminating knowledge and skills learned throughout the course. Carefully review all previous instructor feedback and course resources regarding the effective measurement of both quantitative variables and qualitative constructs.
Regarding an area of research interest, develop a one-sentence statement of the problem ("The problem is...") and a related one-sentence purpose statement ("The purpose of this research is to..."). Then complete the following:
• Develop a related research question to address the purpose of your research involving quantitative data. Identify the quantitative variables addressed by your research question. For each quantitative variable, describe in detail the type of data (nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio) to be collected and how it will be measured, and a possible process for assuring validity and reliability of the measurement.
• Develop a related research question to address the purpose of your research involving qualitative data. Identify the qualitative constructs addressed by your research question. You may use your revisions from previous assignments to address the qualitative portion of this assignment. For each qualitative construct, describe in detail the type of data (nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio) to be collected, how it will be measured, and a possible process for establishing rigor and quality of the measurements.
Length: 5-7 pages, not including a title or reference pages.
Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your responses should reflect scholarly academic writing, current APA standards.
