Assignment Brief:

In your position as a Site Manager you are responsible for ensuring that all works comply with the specification and/or building regulations and/or warranty provider standards, and that all procedures and activities are in place to maintain the project quality and to ensure that the requirements of the drawings and the specifications are met.

Assignment Tasks:

TASK 1: (2500 Words)

Produce a quality control/assurance plan for the Englemere rehabilitation centre project that addresses:
a. Appearance
b. Structural soundness
c. Dimensional accuracy
d. Environmental sustainability
e. The allocation of roles and responsibilities for quality among the managers involved in the project
f. Appropriate statutory and contractual documents for the works

TASK 2: (700 Words)
Concrete test cubes you made from the concrete placed in the ground beams of the Englemere rehabilitation centre building have been tested and have failed to meet the required specification for the compressive strength of the concrete.

Produce an inspection report outlining the possible reasons for the failure and identify potential solutions for the problem.

TASK 3: (600 Words)
The client wishes to use recovered materialsfrom an adjacent site for theEnglemere rehabilitation centre project. Produce a report for the Contracts Manager on the quality control implications of using recovered materials.
